Institute for the Research on Hazardous Substances (IGF), Germany
The Institute for the Research on Hazardous Substances (IGF) is part of the German Statutory Accident Insurance for Raw Materials and Chemical Industry (BG RCI) which is responsible for prevention, compensation, and rehabilitation of industrial diseases and accidents. The IGF is performing measurements of airborne substances and especially airborne dust for the BBG and member companies of the BG RCI. It is also engaged in applied research, standardisation, and education. Special emphasis is placed on an interdisciplinary approach, so IGF is involved in several projects with epidemiological, medical, and administrative experts, especially in the field of nanoparticle exposure determination. IGF is also an institute at the Ruhr University of Bochum.
